I am mourning our great loss. In time, I will rewrite my posts and write some new articles.

For now, the following remains as my ‘About’ page text:

I’m Jane Bewlay, which is as much my real name as that of Lana del Rey, Stevie Wonder and, hey, David Bowie.

Hardcore Bowie fans will get it. If you don’t, I still love you.

I have loved the music of David Bowie for what seems like my entire life. I began this blog as a news site, but switched to historical articles even tho’ that makes the site name a misnomer.

Despite my MainMan having emerged from retirement on January 8, 2013  …

The focus of this website is

the history of David Bowie and associates.

All my articles are original writing. Some are about topics not be found on other David Bowie fansites, or in ways different to the coverage elsewhere. This includes articles aimed at more casual fans, where the issues are well-known to hardcore Bowie fans. Even then, you’ll find that I provide details that may not be generally known.

In terms of style, I sometimes write as though I’m a detached journalist, sometimes as though I’m talking to my friends. Sometimes both in the same paragraph!

My frequency of posting was once a week, but then stuff intervened … I never realized blogging was so time-consuming. Props to all those who are posting several times a week.

I’d really appreciate any comments. I’d also be grateful if you could like my Facebook page!

Thank you for reading.

Jane Bewlay

    • Le Clown, you’ve created a great persona.

Incidentally, one of my next posts will include a passing ‘Free Festival’ ref.

I play that album to any folkies who are unaware of the shining genius of the Mainman.

  3. Hi Jane, I’ve been a fan of David Bowie since the first time I heard Space Oddity in 1969 – and thought it was The Bee Gees! I met him once, asked for his autograph, he said “I’m dying for a cup of tea, I’ll be back in 10 minutes”. I’m still waiting, 15(?) years later…. Thanks, I’m glad I found your blog.

  4. Thanks for your support and your anecdote! I wouldn’t be able to speak if I met him, even though I’ve rehearsed the banal stuff that I’d say countless times.

Just discovered your blog. I’ve been a fan for 25+ years and can’t believe I’ve never come across your site before. Really enjoying dipping in and out of the articles. Thank you from one Bowie fan to another and keep up the good work!

Tell me, what's your POV?
